"Hello Friends!" Spring Yarn Wreath

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for Spring!

Today's weather was so lovely that I painted in the garage with the door open to let all the wonderful air in.  Still a little chilly, but still so amazing.  But now, winter angrily wants to invade my happy place by bringing back SNOW tomorrow.  Snow.  I was done with snow this year!

So in honor of Spring and to continue National Craft Month, I dug out an old project to share that was one of my seasonal faves.

Hello Friends Spring Yarn Wreath

Yarn wreaths are super cute and super easy to make.  You just need a styrofoam wreath form, a glue gun, and some yarn!

My Complete Supply List for this Project:

  • Styrofoam Wreath Form (I think it's 16 inches, but any size works!)
  • Yarn (Balled yarn is easier to wrap!)
  • Scraps of Canvas
  • Ric Rac
  • Artificial Flowers
  • Zig Zag Scissors
  • Letter Stamps
  • Stamp Pad with Waterproof Ink
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks for it

I had everything but the wreath form, so this project was under $5 for me!  It's a great project to use up all those scraps of this and that.

I tied the yarn around the wreath form and secured it with a dot of hot glue.  Then I wrapped.  Forever.  The yarn ball really came in handy for this one.  It was easier to maneuver around the form than a whole skein of yarn would be.

The tail was easy to hide by wrapping it up in the wreath as I went, and I glued the last end when I got all the way around.  Then I added some colorful flowers I had left over from another project, making sure I hid the all evidence of the tails in under them.

Next step was to stamp some cute letters on scraps of canvas fabric that I cut out with Zig Zag scissors.  After it dried, I hot glued the banner onto some ric-rak and attached it to the finished wreath, again with that good old hot glue.

And all done!

Cute, simple, and colorful!  Perfect for springtime!

Are you ready for spring?
